This year's National Football League championship game, Super Bowl XLII  was held in Glendale, Arizona (a suburb of Phoenix) on February 3. The New England Patriots faced the New York Giants, in the last game of the NFL season. The two teams have appeared in a combined eight Super Bowls, with New England having won three and the Giants two. Twenty Patriots players have Super Bowl experience, the Giants have three.
