The Pollution Prevention Coatings and Coating Equipment Pilot, which ended in 2007, was operated in cooperation with Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) Exit EPA Disclaimer. This pilot verified commercial-ready coatings and coating equipment with potential to prevent pollution. Innovative coatings are environmentally advantageous by virtue of their composition or curing process, such as near-zero volatile organic compound liquids and ultraviolet-curable coatings. Innovative coating equipment generates less pollution by applying coatings more efficiently or by expanding the use of innovative coatings. This pilot was part of the Air Pollution Prevention and Control division, which is under the EPA’s National Risk Management Research Laboratory.

Verified Technologies
Coatings and coating equipment technologies that prevent pollution help to protect human health and our ecological resources. This pilot verified technologies in a range of categories, including high transfer-efficiency spray equipment, laser-targeting devices, powder coatings, and ultraviolet-curable coatings.
