In addition to current activities, in the past, ETV also verified technologies in other areas. As part of EPA’s efforts for homeland security, ETV conducted verification of monitoring and treatment technologies for safe buildings and water security. Technologies for water security were verified under the existing ETV Advanced Monitoring Systems Center, Drinking Water Systems Center, and Water Quality Protection Center. Technologies for safe buildings were verified under separate efforts (see below). The Technology Testing and Evaluation program, operated by the EPA National Homeland Security Research Center, continues to verify these types of technologies.
ETV also verified technologies for pollution prevention (P2), including: commercial-ready metal finishing technologies designed to improve industry performance and achieve cost effective P2 results; and commercial-ready hazardous waste-related P2, recycling and waste treatment technologies. Additionally, ETV verified two technologies under the Environmental Technology Evaluation Center (EvTEC) pilot—this pilot was designed to test a private sector, market-based approach to verification.
While ETV no longer operates the above efforts, verification reports and statements, test/quality assurance plans, and protocols produced through these activities are available to the public. To view products for these efforts, select an area from the lists below:
