Search Information

Note: Some Versions of Internet Explorer may NOT be able to access FTP Download Functions and may have screen formatting difficulties.

Two types of searches are available: (1) A text based search for core and/or sample data and (2) a graphical based search for core data. Graphical.

The text-based core search will return a list of cores that meet certain search criteria such as latitude range or water depth range. A link to samples taken from those cores will also be returned. See Search Help for details and hints before you start your core search.

The text based sample search will return a list of samples that have been taken from particular cores. In addition, the investigator who took the samples, the investigator's institution at the time of sampling, and the date of sampling are also given. This information is provided to help an investigator determine the extent that a core has been sampled. At present, sampling information is available for deep sea cores sampled through 2001.

A Graphical Search will allow you to search for cores through the use of a graphical interface.
