GSA Integrated Technology Services Portfolio

The FAS Integrated Technology Services (ITS) Portfolio consolidates the planning and management of all GSA Information Technology and telecommunications acquisition programs, offering three channels to the IT Market: Multiple Award Schedules, Goverment-wide Acquisition Contracts, and telecommunications contracts.

PERFORMING
Moderately Effective

In general, a program rated Moderately Effective has set ambitious goals and is well-managed. Moderately Effective programs likely need to improve their efficiency or address other problems in the programs' design or management in order to achieve better results.
  • The program has made progress in consolidating the management of the Federal Technology Service, the Federal Supply Service, and other GSA Information Technology acquisition programs. Combining the acquisition programs has reduced the need for redundant purchasing activities.
  • The program's redesign has improved information technology acquisitions. The program offers over 5000 contracts for Information Technology and telecom hardware, software, and professional services under the multiple award schedules program, government-wide acquisition contracts enabling purchase of complete information technology solutions, and telecomunication contracts.
  • The program has begun a comprehensive independent evaluation process that is scheduled to be completed in FY 2008. Although the predecessor programs had been subject to regular, independent evelauations, this evaluation will be the first comprehensive evaluation of the new program and will identify opportunities to increase efficiencies in operations.

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Identifying opportunities to increase efficiency of operations and to improve the effectiveness of ITS Portfolio programs by conducting an independent evaluation of the entire portfolio.
  • Monitoring the performance of technology acquisition programs and delivery services in order to continuously refine operations.
