Science and Technology: Standards Development for Homeland Security Technology

The Standards program mission is to develop and coordinate the adoption of National standards to meet Homeland Security mission needs. There is an urgent need to develop common standards and protocols for technology used to support the homeland security mission.

We are taking the following actions to improve the performance of the program:

  • Conducting an independent, external audit to determine if competitive sourcing and long-term performance goals are on track and results can be validated.
  • Working with Congress to further reduce funding levels in future budgets and moving resouces to other critical programs.
