More Resources Conference on School Safety

U.S. Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings today issued the following statement on the shootings at Virginia Tech:

As the mother of a daughter in college, my heart goes out to the parents of the students who lost their lives and to the entire Virginia Tech community on this sad day.

My Department is working with the White House and other agencies to identify what resources can be provided to Virginia Tech as they assess their needs.
