Statement by the Press Secretary

On Wednesday, April 23, 2003, the President signed into law:

H.R. 145, which designates the Federal building located at 290 broadway in New York, New York, as the Ted Weiss Federal Building;

H.R. 258, the "American 5-Cent Coin Design Continuity Act of 2003," which authorizes the Treasury to change the design on 5-cent coins that are issued in 2003 through 2005, in recognition of the bicentennial of the Louisiana Purchase and the expedition of Lewis and Clark;

H.R. 273, the "Nutria Eradication and Control Act of 2003," which authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to provide funding to Maryland and Louisiana for a program to eradicate and control nutria; and

H.R. 1505, which designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2127 Beatties Ford Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, as the Jim Richardson Post Office.
