Desert Hairy Scorpion

Arthropods (insects, centipedes, scorpions, etc.) are well represented in the SonoranDesert, but did you know the desert depends on them to keep it healthy?  These tiny creatures help regulate the populations of herbivores, predators, parasites and the flora, keeping the ecosystem—all ecosystems—in balance. Come learn about this fascinating micro-world from the University of Arizona’s “Bug Man,” Dr. Carl Olson. In addition to his slide program, he will have specimen cases available for viewing.
