Training and TA

CCDO's mission is to work with local communities to design strategies for deterring crime, promoting economic growth, and enhancing quality of life. One of CCDO's most important functions is to support and help sustain local Weed and Seed strategies through technical assistance (TA) programs. CCDO-sponsored TA helps sites develop and implement comprehensive strategies for improving their local communities.

Sites can procure TA using their Weed and Seed grant's core funds and/or special emphasis funds. CCDO provides TA to help sites achieve their strategic goals with professional guidance, consultation, and team-building approaches. The Community Safety Initiative, for example, provides training and TA focused on integrating public safety and crime control with community and economic development. Read about CSI here. CCDO also provides peer-to-peer training, learning labs, and special training for new site coordinators.

To request TA, a site must fill out a self assessment form. (Form can be downloaded in Fillable Word or Fillable PDF formats.)

For more information on training and TA, visit the Training & TA FAQs page or contact Geroma Void or your state's Program Manager.
