Become a Junior Ranger by completing the Junior Ranger Photo Hunt!
Explore and learn about the Park while looking for the items and locations shown in the pictures. When you are finished with the Hunt, if you can answer the questions that the Ranger or Volunteer in the visitor center will ask you, you earn a Tumacácori Junior Ranger badge.

Our Junior Ranger Program offers young visitors and families a fun, hands-on opportunity to exlore the Park. Different from programs you might find in other parks, ours is based on a Photo Scavenger Hunt where visitors look for pictures and read about the Park.
As the hunt takes you through the grounds, it also passes by other activities such as the seeing the video, playing the Pima Stick Game, Exploring the Museum, or checking out the Garden.
Upon completion of the hunt - finding all the pictures - new Junior Rangers are quized about what they learned and saw before being awarded with their special prize.

FOR TEACHERS
The Junior Ranger Photo Hunts also works well with small groups of up to ten students. Instead of individuals holding the picture cards, we recommend that the adult chaperone show the first card to the students and ask them to find it (usually chasing after them). Once found, read the associated text as a group. Continue this for each card. Upon completion the chapperone can quiz the kids if he or she chooses.
Please Note that because of the large numbers of students visiting the Park, we cannot award certificates and badges to each student. However, we would be happy to supply sticker to the teacher, by request to the education ranger. Teachers may also ask for a copy of the activity guide and are welcome to photocopy all or part.
