The process is quick and painless...
 
  • Read through these articles (print them if you like), Freedom Comes to Roanoke Island  and Roanoke Voyages, to find the answers needed to complete the required worksheets.
  • Print out the worksheets (all three!) and fill them in.
  • Finally, mail the completed worksheets to:

Junior Ranger Patch
In just a few days you will receive your Junior Ranger Badge. If you visit the park in person during the summer months, we have a Roanoke Ranger program that comes with a great patch (shown at left) for your jacket or book bag. When you arrive at the Visitor Center, ask for the Roanoke Ranger workbook.

Remember, the National Parks belong to all of us. Now that you're a Junior Ranger, you have a special responsibility to try visit each and every one in person (after all, cyberspace is nice but nothing beats the real thing.) There are almost 400 of them, so you better get started!
