Identify potential sources of funding
 
Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for more than $400 billion in Federal grants.
 
"Federal Funds for Organizations That Help Those In Need" was compiled specifically to highlight Federal grant opportunities suitable for faith-based and community organization.
 
The online "Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance" provides access to a database of Federal programs.
 
The "Accessing Resources for Community and Faith-Based Organizations Initiative" delivers training and technical assistance on the Federal grants process.
 
The Foundation Center maintains links to more than 4,800 grantmaker Web sites, including private foundations, corporate grantmakers, grantmaking public charities, and community foundations.
 
The Economic Development Catalogue is a categorized list of economic development efforts funded by the Federal government, including opportunities for strengthening the economic health and stability of individuals, communities, and businesses.

"Developing a Quality Grant Proposal" can help you navigate the process of applying for federal funding.
 
The Department of Education's Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives offers "Tips for Novice Grant Seekers" as well as samples of previously funded grant proposals to serve as examples of what goes into a successful grant application.
 
The Foundation Center offers interactive online training courses to help nonprofit organizations identify and apply to sources of funding.
