Libraries on the Web

FAQ and Contact Information

Frequently Asked Questions

I submitted our library’s URL a few days ago. When will it be added to the lists?
I add new entries to the lists in batches when time permits. On occasion, new additions may not go in for a week or more.
Do you have a list of every library’s e-mail address? Will you send me the addresses?
I do not keep library addresses, nor would I ever distribute them without permission, nor would I ever provide them for purposes of unsolicited bulk e-mail. I do not respond to requests for lists of library e-mail addresses.
Why can’t I find my submission for our [branch library | catalog | virtual library]?
Libweb lists home pages of “real world” libraries. Only in unusual circumstances, and at my discretion, will I include branch library home pages; please coordinate with your main library to have a page linking to branch locations. Likewise, I do not link to a page that is only a catalog front end. Pages for services other than "real world" libraries are outside of Libweb’s scope.
May I have permission to link to Libweb from our pages?
I hereby give permission for any site to link to Libweb provided the nature of the link does not obscure the ownership, authorship, or location of Libweb. Links that do obscure ownership may include "framing" Libweb within another site’s pages; I do not give permission to do that, and reserve the right to use link target syntax to break Libweb out of framesets.
Whom do I contact with questions, comments, corrections, or problems with Libweb content?
Me. Please see my contact information at the bottom of this page.
Whom do I contact with questions or problems about the webserver Libweb lives on?
Not me. Please contact the webmaster at the server in question.
May I copy the Libweb lists on my own site?
Libweb content may be used subject to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike license. Please see the instructions for mirroring Libweb.
