Personnel Announcement

The President announced his intention to nominate four people to serve in his Administration:

The President intends to nominate Andrew G. Biggs, of New York, to be Deputy Commissioner of Social Security, for the remainder of a six year term expiring 01/19/07 and an additional six year term expiring 01/19/13. Dr. Biggs currently serves as Associate Commissioner for Retirement Policy at the Social Security Administration. Prior to this, he served as a Social Security Analyst at the Cato Institute. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Research at the Congressional Institute. Dr. Biggs received his bachelor's degree from Queens University of Belfast, his master's from Cambridge University and his PhD from the London School of Economics.

The President intends to nominate Terry L. Cline, of Oklahoma, to be Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration of the Department of Health and Human Services. Dr. Cline currently serves as the Oklahoma Secretary of Health and Commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Prior to this, he served as a Health Care Policy Fellow at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Earlier in his career, he served as Clinical Director of the Cambridge Youth Guidance Center. Dr. Cline received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma. He received his master's degree and PhD from Oklahoma State University.

The President intends to nominate Richard Allan Hill, of Montana, to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Corporation for National and Community Service, for the remainder of a five year term expiring 06/10/09.

The President intends to nominate Diane Humetewa, of Arizona, to be a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Morris K. Udall Scholarship and Excellence in National Environmental Policy Foundation (Recommendation of the Speaker of the House), for a six year term expiring 08/25/12.
