Medicare

The Republican led Congress made good on a promise to our seniors by passing sweeping Medicare reform two years ago.  These reforms, including the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Medicare Part D), took effect January 1 this year.  Now, by enrolling in Medicare Part D, seniors can receive low-cost prescription drugs.   More than 38 million people signed up and are paying for premiums at prices much lower than originally expected.  This program has been so effective that AARP CEO Bill Novelli has said “With the Medicare drug program, more older Americans than ever before have access to affordable prescription drugs.”
