ATI Information of Interest
1) The ATI deadline is 5:00 PM your local time, November 1st of each year.
2) There is no solicitation for the ATI program. Proposals are submitted in response to the generic "Grant Proposal Guide," NSF 08-1,
available at: http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/policydocs/pappguide/nsf08_1/nsf081.pdf NSF has published a revised version of the NSF Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG) NSF 09-1, that establishes important new proposal requirements
on postdoctoral mentoring that will affect most Principal Investigators. NSF 09-1 http://www.nsf.gov/publications/pub_summ.jsp?ods_key=nsf091
will be effective for proposals received on or after January 5, 2009. We urge all PIs considering applying to NSF to review the new PAPPG carefully. Failure to meet these new requirements
will result in proposals being returned without review. Additional information can be found by clicking here.
3) Proposals for advanced instrumentation and computational infrastructure, and software development to support such hardware, are
appropriate but must be directly relevant to the field of astronomy.
4) Program officers for ATI are Dr. Jeffrey Pier, jpier@nsf.gov (for Optical and IR Instrumentation)
and Dr. Andrew Clegg, aclegg@nsf.gov (for Radio Instrumentation).
