WHO WE ARE

Project Concern International is a non-profit health and humanitarian aid organization dedicated to preventing disease, improving community health, and promoting sustainable development.

2008 Hands Across Borders

On November 8, 2008 local community leaders and philanthropists will gather for Project Concern International’s (PCI) 18th Annual Hands Across Borders event at the Manchester Grand Hyatt to celebrate the tradition and culture of South and Southeast Asia.

This annual fundraiser, themed One Night, One World, has become one of the premier fall events in San Diego, last year raising a record $500,000 to support local and global health, economic empowerment and development programs.

This year, Project Concern International welcomes cultural ambassadors, John and Cynthia Hardy, founders of the revolutionary education model called The Green School in Bali. Providing an atypical, one-of-a-kind learning environment, The Green School is completely environmentally sound and promotes creative, hands-on learning for children of all ages.

This year’s event also highlights the groundbreaking work of Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus. An economics professor from Bangladesh, Dr. Yunus was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006, along with the Grameen Bank, for making microcredit one of the most effective tools for poverty alleviation and social change.
