OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Almost 9,500 Oklahomans registered for federal and state disaster recovery assistance by the deadline Friday evening (July 2). To date, more than $67.8 million has been approved for grants and low-interest loans to help victims recover from the tornadoes, storms and floods that occurred May 3-5 in Oklahoma.
The overwhelming majority of applicants are from Cleveland and Oklahoma counties.

The amount of federal and state dollars approved to help individuals with their disaster recovery continues to climb. Assistance to date includes:
The SBA is encouraging applicants to return their SBA packets as quickly as possible. Individuals who need help filling out their SBA packets can call 800-366-6303 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or visit with an SBA representative at one of three Disaster Recovery Centers.
Individuals who have other questions about their applications also can visit with state and federal disaster-recovery specialists at the Disaster Recovery Centers. The same information also is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. by calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-525-0321, or 800-660-8005 for persons with speech or hearing impairments.
The Disaster Recovery Centers are open weekdays 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
