WASHINGTON, Mar. 27, 2007 - Kraft Foods Global, Inc., a Kirksville, Mo., establishment, is voluntarily
recalling approximately 1,800 pounds of bacon due to insufficient cooling during processing, the U.S. Department of
Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today.
The following product is subject to recall: [View Label]
- 12-ounce packages of "OSCAR MAYER 30% LOWER FAT, CENTER CUT BACON." Each label bears the
establishment number "EST. 537V" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each package also
bears the statement, "best when used by 24 May 2007 A."
The bacon was produced on Feb. 11, 2007 and was shipped to a distribution center in California. The problem was
discovered by the company. No reports of illnesses have been received by FSIS or the company from consumption of
this product.
