OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Two of the disaster recovery centers set up to help victims of Oklahoma's May 3-5 tornadoes, severe storms and flooding will close at 6 p.m. Friday, June 18, state and federal recovery officials said today.
The centers at the Dover Town Hall, 101 N. Chisholm Trail on Highway 81, and at the high school gymnasium, Bridge Creek School District, off Sara Road and Bridge Creek Road, Route 1, just east of Tuttle, Grady County, will continue operating Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until closing.
Those who have registered for assistance since the disaster can still get one-on-one help at three other recovery centers and by calling the Disaster Helpline, 800-525-0321 (TTY 800-660-8005).
The recovery centers were opened to offer face-to-face assistance to individuals who suffered damage in the May disaster. After applying for assistance through the toll-free registration line, 800-462-9029 (TTY 800-462-7585), individuals may go to recovery centers to have questions answered about the types of disaster assistance available, to get help in filling out packages for low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, to turn in completed loan packages or to check on the status of their applications.
Three disaster recovery centers will remain open, operating from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They are at:
Oklahoma City - Bank One building, 7400 S. Pennsylvania Avenue.
Midwest City - Circuit City store, 6830 E. Reno Road.
Moore -- South Metro Center, Super Flea Bingo building, 2600 S.W. Service Road.
To date more than 9,000 individuals have registered for assistance and more than 7,000 have visited the recovery centers.
