Consolidated Disaster Recovery Center Opening To Serve Bucks And Montgomery County Flood Applicants - Two Existing Centers To Close Saturday

Philadelphia, PA -- A new Consolidated Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will open on Monday, July 9th to serve people who suffered damage from the floods caused by Tropical Storm Allison on June 15 - 17. Jack Schuback, the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) local human services officer said, "This facility will replace the two separate DRCs for Bucks and Montgomery counties that are closing at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 7th."

The new facility will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Friday and will continue to serve the needs of people from Bucks and Montgomery counties who suffered damage in the floods. "It is a one stop center for flood assistance," said Schuback.

The various state programs will continue to be available through their traditional community office locations. John J. Forr, Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency Human Services Officer said,"Consolidation of the initial two centers into one centralized location will ensure that federal disaster recovery related information and assistance remains available. Individuals who visit the new center location and are in need of specialized state help will be referred to the appropriate agency location."

The new consolidated center is located at the Old Johnsville Naval Base, on Jacksonville Rd. between Street Rd. (Rt. 132) and Bristol Rd. Reserved parking can be found through Gate 17 at the north end of the Base near Building 800.

New registrations are still being taken at FEMA's teleregistration number 1-800-462-9029. Recovery officials encourage those who have already registered to call the toll-free Helpline number, 1-800-525-0321, to check on the status of their applications or to get additional information. Both numbers are open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (TDD 1-800-462-7585 is available the same hours for Teleregistration or Helpline)
