Disaster Recovery Centers And Helpline To Be Closed March 25

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa -- The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in the Manu’a Islands and the Helpline being operated by the American Samoa Government (ASG) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be closed Friday, March 25 in commemoration of the Good Friday holiday.
The DRC schedule for the week of March 28-April 1 (weather permitting) is as follows:
Monday, March 28: Pola Guest House, Village of Ta’u, Ta’u Island.
Tuesday, March 29: Siva Guest House, Village of Ofu, Ofu Island.
Wednesday, March 30: Social Service Building, Village of Fitiuta, Ta’u Island.
Thursday, March 31: Malemo Guest House, Village of Olosega, Olosega Island.
Friday, April 1: There will no DRCs open.
The hours of operation at all locations will be 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The Centers are staffed by federal and territory program specialists who can give one-on-one help to register individuals and businesses who suffered damages from Cyclone Olaf.
The Helpline number, which will also reopen on Monday, March 28, is 633-9962 and the hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and effectively manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, and manages the National Flood Insurance program and the U.S. Fire Administration. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
