Acadia National Park protects more than 47,000 acres:

  • 35,332 acres owned by the National Park Service
  • 12,416 acres of privately owned lands that are under conservation easements managed by the National Park Service

Lafayette National Park - February 26, 1919
Acadia National Park - January 19, 1929

Visitation
Acadia National Park generally receives more than two million recreational visits each year, making it one of the most-visited national park in the United States. The busiest months are July, August, and September.
