For males, the homicide victimization rate began at 13.6 in 1976 and rose to 16.2 in 1980. Then the rate fell, reaching a low of 8.6 in 2000, before increasing, reaching 9.0 in 2003. After 2003, it decreased, reaching 8.7 in 2004, before increasing to 9.0 in 2005.

For females, the homicide victimization rate began at 4.2 in 1976 and remained constant until 1977. The rate then fell to 4.1 in 1978, before increasing to 4.5 in 1980. Then it dropped to 2.3 in 2005.
