Description:	Uses real-time monitoring (with gauges shown on the screen) to demonstrate fume exposures inside and outside the welding hood while welding outdoors and indoors with a conventional welding hood, a PAPR (respirator) hood, and local-exhaust ventilation using a shopmade fume extractor. The video demonstrates that a welding hood alone does not reduce a welder’s exposure to toxic fume and sometimes might increase it.
