The RA CHASP addresses potential community health and safety issues for the public in the vicinity of the Phase 1 of the Hudson River dredging project. The RA CHASP describes potential hazards and impacts to members of the local community, and the steps that will be taken to prevent and respond to them. It also sets forth a Community Education and Notification Plan for providing the public with timely and accurate information about project work activities and schedule, and a Complaint Management Program for the public to register project-related complaints

Environmental Monitoring Plan [ PDF 913 KB, 78 pages ]
To gauge the effectiveness of dredging, sediment processing, water treatment, and other aspects of the Phase 1 work relative to performance standards and water quality requirements, an extensive environmental monitoring program has been designed. The Phase 1 Environmental Monitoring Plan provides details of all the monitoring activities and associated contingency and mitigation plans for the performance standards and water quality requirements.

How to Submit Comments:
EPA has initiated a thorough review of the Final Design Report and Community Health and Safety Plan and is soliciting input from the public through May 24, 2006. Hard copies of the Intermediate Design Report are available at information repositories in Glens Falls, Fort Edward (EPA Hudson River Field Office), Ballston Spa, Albany, Poughkeepsie, New York City (EPA Region 2 offices), and Edgewater, New Jersey.
