I see anti-male "jokes" coming from straight women all the time.
They get passed around at work, come at me via e-mail and I hear
them on social occasions. Married women make outrageous anti-
male statements. Some of those women are feminists; many are
not.

I see that stream of anti-male feeling as a sign that straight women
who are struggling for equality inside personal and intimate
relationships with men know more about the gritty details of that
struggle than lesbians do.

Does a radical feminist have to be a lesbian? Of course not; but
her struggle will be different.

I guess feminism can emerge and be expressed in both radical and
conservative ways. I have read a radical view of feminism that
argues that
we live in a society in which all its institutions foster gender
inequality. The union of men and women is one of those institutions
that
fosters gender inequality. Therefore, radical feminists, even though
they may be attracted to men, must choose lesbianism as a form of
resistance to this gender inequality. Can anyone comment on this?
