Rose Marie,
Poetry-
What a wonderful way to introduce the issue of violence in the classroom. I'm
truly amazed at the power that increasing literacy levels can have in our
students lives. It has been said that education is the key to success. The
definitions of success in our students' lives is something we may never be
able to truly comprehend. We have not walked in their shoes nor had to
overcome everything that they have had to. Every time I get frustrated or
overwhelmed with my students, I find it helpful to remind myself that they
have been through things in their lives that I may never come close to having
to deal with. They deserve success at every little step forward towards their
ultimate goal - whatever that may be.
