If Sharon was listed or introduced as Executive Director (or some other
title) of the NCFL, then wouldn't she be aligning the NCFL with the
republican party by association?

However, if she was listed or introduced as Sharon Darling, a citizen
interested in family literacy, and left any references to the NCFL out of
her intro. or speech, then the affiliation NCFL might have with the
republican party would not appear to be so evident.

I am concerned that the NCFL, which should be "above the political scene",
appears to have very public ties to the republican party. How do others
feel?

Good question! I would have assumed that it should not be aligned with any
party, but maybe I am being naive? Does speaking at the convention imply
party affiliation? I guess it would! By the way, for those who are
wondering-NCFL stands for National Center for Family Literacy.

How aligned is the NCFL with the Republican party? Does anybody know?
