The Arizona Association of Community Health Centers (AACHC) serves as the Primary Care Association (PCA) for the State of Arizona. One of the AACHC's critical roles is to design and support programs and services that assist member community health centers address the health care needs of the uninsured and underserved. The Association aims "to improve the health status of individuals and families who need primary care services and may not have the financial resources, or health insurance to pay for them." AACHC has 36 community health center members of which eleven clinic members are designated tribal clinics or serve primarily Native American/American Indian populations. Eleven of Arizona's fifteen counties are designated Rural-Rural (RR) Counties.
Key AACHC services and programs include:
- Community Development;
- Migrant Health Program;
- Advocacy and Leadership building;
- Clinical Program;
- Outreach and Enrollment Program;
- Medical Assistant's (MA) Day;
- Women's Health Screenings;
- The Arizona Partnership for Immunizations (TAPI);
- SEARCH (Student Experiences and Rotations in Community Health) Program;
- Physician Recruitment; and
- Workforce Development.
