FLSA
Exempt Position: The position
is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime pay requirements.
This position is not eligible for overtime pay.

Non- Exempt Position: This
position is not exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act. The position
is eligible for overtime pay.

Career
Service Position: The
position is filled from an established list or pool which utilized
a competitive process. The person hired for the position must pass
the probationary period.

Limited Position): The
position is filled for a designated time period. This position may
be FLSA Exempt or FLSA Non-Exempt.

Body of Work Work:
designated by the hiring authority to be performed either continuously
or for a designated time period.

Position: Selection
for this position is done by the hiring authority. The position is
normally FLSA Exempt.

Probationary
Period: This is the time period
which the newly hired employee must show his or her competency for
the position for which they were hired for. The hiring authority determines
the length of time the employee must serve before passing or failing
their probation. Also Union contracts may determine the length of
time of probation
