The study will collect survey data from 400 randomly sampled secondary mathematics teachers; a subset of 760 members of this group will keep logs on instruction during one semester. Statistical analyses will be conducted on the results to determine which survey and log items provide the most efficient and comprehensive data set for the purpose of portraying instruction in a wide range of settings.
