Two charts: one each for white and black victims

For white husbands, the rate began at 0.95 in 1976 and remained constant until 1978. After 1978, the rate climbed to 1.08 in 1979, before decreasing to 0.14 in 2003. Then it increased to 0.20 in 2004, before dropping to 0.17 in 2005.

For white wives, the rate began at 1.73 in 1976 and decreased to 1.62 in 1977. After 1977, the rate rose to a high of 1.76 in 1982, before falling, reaching a low of 0.96 in 1999. After 1999, it rose to 1.12 in 2000, before falling to 0.97 in 2003. Then the rate increased to 1.02 in 2005.

For white boyfriends, the rate began at 0.66 in 1976 and rose to 0.70 in 1977. The rate then dropped, reaching 0.55 in 1978, before climbing to 0.75 in 1982. Then it fell, reaching 0.61 in 1983, before rising to 0.75 in 1984. After 1984, the rate decreased to 0.23 in 2005.

For white girlfriends, the rate began at 1.70 in 1976 and decreased to 1.53 in 1977. The rate then increased to a high of 2.46 in 1993, before dropping to a low of 1.61 in 2004. After 2004, it increased to 1.90 in 2005.

For black husbands, the rate began at 18.07 in 1976 and dropped to 0.86 in 2004. The rate then rose to 0.89 in 2005.

For black wives, the rate began at 12.53 in 1976 and fell to 2.76 in 2004. After 2004, the rate rose to 3.02 in 2005.

For black boyfriends, the rate began at 12.14 in 1976 and decreased to 1.58 in 2004. Then the rate increased, reaching 1.94 in 2005.

For black girlfriends, the rate began at 10.69 in 1976 and decreased to a low of 3.49 in 2004. Then the rate increased to 3.60 in 2005.
