and Local Governments
State and local governments play an integral role in the collection and management of old electronics equipment. More and more states have mandatory electronics recycling laws; states that do not are often actively working with their local governments to set up periodic or permanent collection/recycling opportunities for electronics. States and local governments are also on the front lines of educating and informing their citizens about proper management of used electronics. While the demand to have ongoing electronic collection is high, many governments only have the resources to hold collection events once or twice a year, if at all.
Plug-In To eCycling fosters partnerships between electronics manufacturers, retailers, and governments. It aims to provide governments with the tools and resources necessary to build successful electronics recycling programs.
