Secretary Spellings presents a Teacher Incentive Fund grant award to University of Texas System Chancellor Mark Yudof at Richardson Independent School District's Audelia Creek Elementary School in Dallas, Texas. Congressman Pete Sessions joined Secretary Spellings for the event.  The grant will help provide financial incentives to teachers and principals who improve student achievement and close achievement gaps in high-poverty schools. Secretary Spellings announces a $1.4 million grant under the Teacher Incentive Fund to the University of Texas System.  The grant will help provide financial incentives to teachers and principals who improve student achievement and close achievement gaps in high-poverty schools.
Secretary Spellings presents members of the Texas school community with a check for $1,438,787 million.  The project is expected to be funded for five years and total approximately $25.5 million.
