Three Disaster Recovery Centers Open Friday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Three Federal/State disaster recovery centers will open Friday in Somerville,
Paramus, and Wayne. Any individual, family, or business owner who suffered damage due to Tropical Storm Floyd can visit the recovery centers for information concerning federal and state assistance, according to Federal Coordinating Officer Peter Martinasco of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Before visiting a center, it is important to first register for assistance by calling FEMA's toll free registration number at 1-800-462-9029, State Coordinating Office Lt. Edward O'Neil of
the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, said.
Representatives from the State of New Jersey, FEMA, the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and other key disaster agencies will be located in each center.
In addition, experts on hazard mitigation will be at the centers to provide information on how to reduce damages from future storms and flooding.
On Friday, October 1, the centers will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Beginning Saturday, October 2, the centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday until further notice. This Sunday only, October 3, the centers will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

- Wayne: Union Camp Corporation, 1600 Valley Road
