Welcome to Jackson Hole Mountain Guides

What's New

Summer Update
We still have good availability for Grand Teton climbs in August, although the calendar in July is quickly filling up. There are open spots for our high point trips--Gannett Peak climbs from both east and west, and on Granite Peak in Montana. Call our Jackson office with questions: 800-239-7642.

Kathryn Miller Hess
We have lost one of our great friends and colleagues this March. Kathryn passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2009, days after sustaining a head injury while skiing. She was on duty as a ski patroller at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort at the time of her accident. Read more . . .

AMGA Alpine Guides Course
J
HMG is offering an American Mountain Guides Association course this coming June. The 10 day course is for guides in training; it is $2000 and runs June 15-24; qualified applicants should contact JHMG Chief Guide Rob Hess [rob@jhmg.com] for more information.

Magro's Latok 1 Expedition
Guide Whit Magro was absent from the Tetons and Beartooths most of last summer. He travelled to Pakistan, where he and Josh Wharton had ambitions on the north side of Latok 1--a dramatic and infamous 7000 meter peak. Read Whit's account of their expedition.

Climbing in the Red Rock
Are you suffering from Spring Fever? Perhaps a trip to the Mojave Desert is just what you need after too many months of slugging it out with old man winter. We are slightly biased, but we think the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, just west of Las Vegas, is the perfect place for rock-climbing, and a “spring break” getaway. For more information, contact us at 702.254.0885 or redrock@jhmg.com.

Wilderness First Aid
JHMG is running our yearly Wilderness First Aid/Wilderness First Responder recert class this upcoming June. Taught by Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS, the course will take place in Jackson, WY June 12-14, 2009, and costs $250 if booked before the end of April. Call our office to reserve your spot.
