Secretary of Energy to Deliver Remarks at Dedication of New Bioenergy Facility

WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, October 28, 2008, U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman will deliver remarks at the dedication ceremony for the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) in Emeryville, Calif.  This state-of-the-art laboratory facility—one of three new DOE Bioenergy Research Centers—was created to pursue transformational discoveries in basic science, enabling us to develop new methods of producing the next-generation of biofuels from inedible plant fibers. The Secretary will also make an announcement to accelerate clean energy technologies from the lab to the marketplace.
