CIG
The purpose of the NIH Cytokine Interest Group (the NIH CIG) is to provide a forum for the interaction of scientists with a common interest in the immunology, molecular biology and physiology of cytokines. Our major activities are a series of mini-symposia by NIH-area scientists dealing with multidisciplinary aspects of cytokine research, as well as seminars by outside speakers several times a year. Note: The Cytokine Interest Group sponsors an annual award for NIH postdoctoral fellows. The award will be presented at our 2009 Spring Minisymposium and is awarded to the best postdoctoral fellow publication* (published or accepted for publication in a peer reviewed journal) in cytokine research during the period Jan 1 through Dec.31, 2008. The work must have been initiated and completed while at the NIH/FDA. Postdocs should submit their paper by e-mail to Daniela Verthelyi. Please put CIG award on the subject line. The deadline for submitting papers is January 30, 2009. The winner will be selected by the CIG steering committee. All postdoctoral fellows in the NIH intramural program and fellows in FDA labs on the NIH campus are eligible for consideration. * Fellow must be first author Registration is now open for the next NIH Cytokine Interest Group minisymposium on Mar. 12. There is no cost for registration and attendance is open to everyone. Membership is open to all, and the listserv email program gives ready access to group announcements and discussions (see the Archives page). CIG planning meetings are held on or about the 3rd Tuesday of every 4th month (February, June, and October) at a site to be announced. Please join us! |
