HSRIG
The NIH Health Services Research Special Interest Group had its first organizational meeting Monday, March 22, 2004. Over 50 employees participated, representing 11 Institutes and Centers and other federal agencies (HHS, AHRQ, VA, USUHS, etc.). The group will meet quarterly, with schedules of topical workgroup meetings to be decided as the workgroups evolve. The purpose of the group is to bring together people interested in health services research and promoting the translation of research into practice. Members come from across NIH and other federal agencies, and are interested in shared learning, networking, and collaboration between institutes and agencies. Topic workgroups under development include health disparities, patient safety and measurement of healthcare quality, funding health services research, evaluation, and developing an NIH-relevant definition of health services research.
