FDA Commissioner Dockets Management Branch (HFA 305) Food and Drug Administration 5630 Fisher's Lane, rm. 1061 Rockville, MD 20852 RE: Docket No. 00N-1396, and 00D-1598 Dear FDA, As a health writer and gardener, I have been interested in the genetically modified food debate. Clearly, the risks outweigh the benefits to everyone concerned except those who stand to make huge profits. Genetic diversity of seeds is vitally important to the future of U.S. and world agriculture. I am appalled that the private sector has been allowed to go ahead and use these seeds. And I'm horrified that the FDA even refuses to give consumers an informed choice by ruling that companies using genetically altered materials must inform us. Please do your job of protecting consumers. Sincerely, Louisa Rose Louisa Rose 137272 N.
