To whom it may concern,

I am writing to show my support of the petition currently being reviewed on 
the subject of 'downers', livestock that are non-ambulatory at the 
stockyard.  The petition's docket # is 98P-0151/CP1.  I feel that it is 
crucial that these 'downers' should not be slaughtered, as they are too sick 
with disease or mistreatment to be marketed for sale as food.  This is one 
step the FDA can easily take in making the nation's food supply safer from 
disease.  Thank you for your time and consideration!
