I'm sure GE foods are safe, and I'm in favor of new ways to produce food. However, we can't be sure GE foods are safe until we test the effects they have on people. Whenever a new drug gets discovered or created it must be checked with the FDA to make sure it is safe before it is introduced to the public. Lets not forget the F stands for food in FDA, so no less should be required for the foods that get introduced to the market. I also believe all GE foods should be clearly labeled as such; and if there are any health risks, those should also be labeled. Any food product you buy has all the ingredients listed on the container because people have a right to know what they are eating. I know people who are allergic to certain types of foods, and thanks to labeling of the ingredients in food they are able to avoid eating something that could potentially kill them. It is also an individual's liberty to choose what they want to eat. If someone chooses not to eat certain types of food, then that is the person's individual right. It is the government's duty to let us know what are in the products we buy and any risks associated with using the products, then let individuals have the right to choose what they put into their bodies. tom -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com
