Current GBIF Participants (members)

GBIF's "members" are officially called Participants by the GBIF Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU is open for signature to any country or relevant international organisation.

Institutions, individuals and regional/national/sub-national organisations that wish to share their data via the GBIF network do not have to sign the MOU (instead, see Become a Data Provider). GBIF's current Data Providers are listed here.

The procedure for a country or international organisation to apply for Participant status is described in the document  How to Become a GBIF Participant.

Inquiries concerning Participation in GBIF, or Letters of Intent to do so, may be sent by e-mail to gbif@gbif.org and should be addressed as follows:

Chair of the GBIF Governing Board
GBIF Secretariat
Universitetsparken 15
DK-2100 Copenhagen Ø
Denmark

The current GBIFMemorandum of Understanding (MOU 2007-2011) went into effect 1 January 2007.
