HuGENet e-Journal
e-Journal Club

What is it?
The HuGE e-Journal Club is an electronic discussion forum where new human genome epidemiologic (HuGE) findings, published in the scientific literature in the National Office of Public Health Genomics Weekly Update, will be abstracted, summarized, presented, and discussed via a newly created HuGENet™ listserv."

How will it work?
Using a standard abstraction template designed to make it easy to display the key components of the study, HuGENet™ members will summarize and comment on a paper or papers specifically related to HuGE interests. A summary and comments will be posted to the listserv and will also be accessible on the HuGENet™ website. Readers are invited to participate in a discussion of the topic.

How can I participate in the HuGENet™ e-Journal Club ?

You can participate in the e-Journal Club in one of three ways

  1. Join in the discussion of the reviewed articles.
To do this, you must join the HuGENet™ Listserv (see below for instructions on how to subscribe). Listserv members will have access to the abstractions, the review, and all of the discussion that follows.

  2. Simply review the articles in the scientific literature, the summary, and comments.
You do not need to subscribe to the Listserv. Readers will have access to the abstractions and summaries posted to the HuGENet™ Website, but will not be able to view or participate in the discussion that follows.

  3. Participate in the selection, abstraction, and summary of future articles.
The summary and abstraction template are available to members who wish to participate in this manner. You must also be a HuGENet™ Listserv subscriber.  (More detailed guidelines for reviewers are available for download)

We look forward to your participation in our new HuGENet ™ e-Journal Club endeavor and anticipate a thought-provoking and lively dialogue.
