FEMA Mitigation Teams Provide Tips to Rebuild Safer and Stronger

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Specialists from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be at several local building supply stores Monday, March 3, through Saturday, March 8, with storm-safe information. The hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The specialists will answer questions and provide information on how Tennesseans can rebuild safer and stronger as well as take actions to prevent or reduce future losses.

A study by the Multihazard Mitigation Council shows each dollar spent on mitigation saves society an average of $4. Home owners and contractors can visit the following locations to get pre-disaster planning information, tips on building a safe room and how to rebuild stronger:
