FEMA/Kentucky Disaster Recovery Centers In Harlan And Morehead Announce New Hours

London, KY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Kentucky Emergency Management (KyEM) have announced the new hours of operation for the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) located at the Village Center in Harlan and the Rescue Squad Building in Morehead. The centers will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, beginning April 22. The centers will be open Sunday, April 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and will be closed on Sundays beginning April 28.

State Coordinating Officer Cash Centers stated, "The centers will continue to be staffed with representatives of federal, state and voluntary agencies who will provide information and answer questions about the assistance available to residents of the 24 designated disaster counties following the severe storms and flooding of March 17-21." Centers added, "The centers are open to everyone. But to be eligible for federal disaster assistance, individuals and businesses must have suffered damages in one of the designated counties."

"If they haven't done so yet, disaster victims are urged to start the application process by calling toll-free, 1-800-621-FEMA (1-800-621-3362). Those with hearing or speech impairments may call TTY 1-800-462-7585 to apply," Federal Coordinating Officer Mike Bolch said.
