WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Conditions continue to improve in Tennessee after an additional round of severe weather that included tornadoes hit the state on Jan. 21 - 22. FEMA Director Witt, along with Regional, State and local officials, visited Clarksville (Montgomery County) and Benton and Jackson counties on Jan. 23.

Local officials report some secondary roads in Rutherford County are closed due to standing water. All major highways are reported open. Power outages are being reported several counties, including 1,500 in Montgomery County, 500 in Hamilton County and 300 in Benton County.

Montgomery County residents have reported water service outages and potable water is being delivered to the affected area.

A curfew is in effect for Clarksville residents from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Residents and business owners are being allowed to retrieve items and inspect damages during daylight hours.
