Mobile Recovery Center Begins Trek Through Tornado Disaster Area

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A mobile Disaster Recovery Center begins a series of visits through seven counties ravaged by January's tornadoes Thursday, Febuary 4, with its first stop scheduled in Huron at the Westover community of Henderson County.
Staffed by federal, state and volunteer agency representatives, the mobile DRC can provide answers to storm victims about assistance programs and help determine the status of their applications for help. Meantime, storm victims may still register for assistance simply by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) toll-free number, 1-800-462-9029.
The mobile disaster recovery center schedule is as follows:
- Feb. 4-5 - Henderson County, Huron, Westover Fire Station, 364 Crucifer Rd., Westover Community, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Feb. 6 - Hardeman County, Saulsbury, Saulsbury EMS.SO Annex, Hwy 57, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Feb. 8 - Hardeman County, Middleton, Middleton Community Center, Hwy 125, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Feb. 9 - Haywood County, Brownsville, District 3 Fire Station, Eurekaton Rd., 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- Feb. 10-11 - Lauderdale County, Halls, Halls Community Center, 201 North College, 8 a.m.- 7 p.m.
- Feb. 12 - Crockett County, location to be announced, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Feb. 13 - Crockett County, location to be announced, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Feb. 15 - Carroll County, Huntingdon City Hall, 12740 Lexington St., Huntingdon, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Feb. 16-17 -Benton County, Camden Bank, 180 Hwy 641 North, Camden, 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Two disaster recovery centers already have been established and are in full operation in Jackson and Clarksville. The Jackson center is located at the Jackson Civic Center, 400 S. Highland St., and the Clarksville center is in the Burt Cobb Civic Center, 1011 Franklin St.
